Walking School Bus Day - Funky Socks

This is a fantastic event for our school community. Life . . be in it!!

We are delighted to have Mrs Carolyn Ryder – City of Busselton Sustainable Transport Officer join us again.  We appreciate her support and thank her for being part of this great community event.

We would love to see as many students as possible walk to school with their parents or carers, while learning to be safe, active and healthy.

  • WEAR YOUR FUNKIEST SOCKS!!
  • Parents are encouraged to join in this healthy activity and must accompany their children on the ‘buses’ unless their children are normally allowed to walk unaccompanied.
  • Children are encouraged to join the Walking School Buses at their nearest intersection.
  • Children with their parents who live out of town are invited to join the ‘buses’ at a stop where they can park their car, the further the better!!
  • The walk is organised TO SCHOOL ONLY (We hope you walk home too!)
  • Bus stops will be marked with coloured, numbered bus stop signs, which will be collected and carried to school.
  • All three buses will join at the Hall and walk to school together.
  • A healthy snack, will be prepared by the canteen and provided to walkers by the P&C between 8.30 and 8.45am (If you are able to help serve the snack, please let Michelle Ward know)
For Bus routes and timetables please check your Connect Notifications.

We hope many of you can join us as, “Active Kids are Healthy Kids

Our School is a Sustainable School.  This initiative assists us to reach our goals in “Transport & Air” by reducing carbon emissions from idling cars. CHECK OUT THE ‘ACTIVE TRANSPORT’ ON OUR MURAL!! (Tell Mrs Nic what interesting form of transport you see!!)

WE ARE ALSO A “CHAT – Changing Health Acting Together SCHOOL” AND AS WE DEVELOP A WHOLE SCHOOL APPROACH TO ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION WE TRUST YOU WILL ALL WALK SAFELY.

We hope to see there!!
