Walking School Bus Day - Wear Your Cape

You are invited to join our FIRST Walking School Bus for 2021 on Thursday morning, 11 March. Our theme is "Wear your Cape" - beach towels allowed.

This is a fantastic event for our school community. Life . . be in it!!

We would love to see as many students as possible walk to school with their parents or carers, while learning to be safe, active and healthy.

There are three buses, Yellow from town - inland route, Blue from town - beach route and Red from Cape Rise. The timetables will be placed onto our school website. We hope to see loads of families choosing active transport and joining in our special before school event which is supported by our P&C.

  • WEAR YOUR CAPE!!
  • Parents are encouraged to join in this healthy activity and must accompany their children on the ‘buses’ unless their children are normally allowed to walk unaccompanied.
  • Children are encouraged to join the Walking School Buses at their nearest intersection.
  • Children with their parents who live out of town are invited to join the ‘buses’ at a stop where they can park their car, the further the better!!
  • The walk is organised TO SCHOOL ONLY (We hope you walk home too!)
  • Bus stops will be marked with coloured, numbered bus stop signs, which will be collected and carried to school.
  • All three buses will join at the Hall and walk to school together.

We hope many of you can join us as, “Active Kids are Healthy Kids

Our School is a Sustainable School.  This initiative assists us to reach our goals in “Transport & Air” by reducing carbon emissions from idling cars. CHECK OUT THE ‘ACTIVE TRANSPORT’ ON OUR MURAL!! (Tell Mrs Nic what interesting form of transport you see!!)

WE ARE ALSO A “CHAT – Changing Health Acting Together SCHOOL” AND AS WE DEVELOP A WHOLE SCHOOL APPROACH TO ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION WE TRUST YOU WILL ALL WALK SAFELY.

We hope to see there!!
