The following information is provided to keep families in our community fully informed of the latest development and actions Dunsborough Primary is taking in response to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic.
NOTE: While the Department of Health advises the risk of transmission in Western Australia remains low, they are monitoring the situation and we are acting on their advice to take any necessary precautions for our students and staff.
1. Attendance at School
On the direction of the WA Government, the Chief Medical Officer and the WA Education Department Dunsborough Primary School is remaining open, until advised differently.
To assist our school
a) manage the current situation where a number of parents have made the decision to keep their child/children at home and
b) to help teachers prepare appropriate work/curriculum packages to maintain the continuity of teaching and learning for all students in the case of a temporary school closure -
I am asking if all school families could please complete a very short survey on your child’s/children’s school attendance for the rest of this term and their remote learning access by clicking on the link below;
(We do apologize if you have already supplied all or some of this information to the school. This survey will, however, provide the school with a far more accurate and comprehensive record of this information than we currently have.)
2. Parents Conducting Morning Routines with Students in Classrooms Before School
As an additional measure to help our students’ with social distancing, all parents are asked to please drop their child off at the classroom door and not come in and carry out normal early morning routines of shared puzzles and books from now on.
3. Continuity of Teaching & Learning
Preparations have commenced at DPS to provide ways in which our students can continue their learning from home, should our school have to close in the future.
In the meantime, a website has been launched by the Education Department for parents called “Learning at Home” which contains a number of suggested activities and resources students can use at home to continue their learning and education. This website will be regularly updated with more activities and resources as they are developed.

4. No More Assemblies in Term 1
Due to larger than expected student absences occurring at the moment, a decision has been taken to cancel all school assemblies for the rest of the term. All classes however will still be given a chance to watch our normal Assembly reports by student leaders and perform the school song from their classroom.
5. School Photos
School Photos next week have now been postponed to Week 3 of Term 4 on October 26th and 27th. If you have already ordered photos this will stay in the system until term 4, If any parent wish to cancel their order for a refund or to change their order, they can contact Kapture on firstname.lastname@example.org
There is a drop down box which asks what the query is they you need to request a refund and provide your ONLINE order ID which is contained in your confirmation email. Please note Kapture cannot issue partial refunds but can amend orders providing the dollar value is the same.
